Fight precedes fatal shooting in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) – Police say a fight between two men who had dated the same woman ended with the fatal shooting of one of the men in Sioux Falls.

Authorities have arrested a 27-year-old man in the death of 37-year-old Jeremy Flynn Sunday afternoon. Flynn was shot once in the chest in an alley in central Sioux Falls.

A court affidavit says the suspect was dating Flynn’s ex-girlfriend who believes he didn’t like Flynn. The suspect told police he went to meet Flynn and that the two began to fight and wrestled over a handgun. The affidavit says the suspect told police he punched Flynn in the groin, then shot him, dropped the gun and drove away.

Police say they have not recovered a weapon.
