Eight COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday; active cases fall

Eight COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday, the statewide total is now 2392.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by seven to 225. Four new cases reported Tuesday. The total is now 5515. Recovered cases are at 5249. Thee number of deaths reported in Brookings County has been changed — decreasing by one to 41. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 64 to 7688. Total cases increase by 384 to 170,800. There are 160,720 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by three to 270.

Sixty-six percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
