COVID Update for Brookings County

Two COVID-19 deaths reported Wednesday in the Department of Health weekly update. The statewide total is 2947.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 12 to 115. Thirty-two new cases reported since July 13, the total is 8,501. Recovered cases are at 8,330. There have been 56 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 319 to 4,176. Total cases increase by 1,514 in the last week to 248,788. There are 241,665 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 3 to 86.

Seventy-four percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Sixty percent have completed a vaccine series and 33-percent have received a booster.
