COVID-19 cases increase by 68 in South Dakota but active cases still go down

The South Dakota Department of Health now reports 2313 total cases OF COVID-19 with 68 cases reported today. Of those, 910 are active cases. Despite today’s increase, the number of active cases actually dropped by eight from yesterday as recoveries outpace newly confirmed cases.

There have been 11 fatalities from the virus in the state.

The Department reports 1392 people have recovered and 157 are in the “ever hospitalized” category. Current hospitalizations are at 61. There have been 14,299 negative tests.

Brookings County remains at 12 cases with three active. There have been 341 negative tests conducted in Brookings County.

Minnehaha County is now at 1939 cases, the majority are connected to Smithfield Foods.
