City of Brookings sets branch pickup

Following weekend storms, the City of Brookings will be conducting a special tree debris curbside pickup for residents this Wednesday, July 24th through Thursday, July 25th.

Branches should be placed in a pile in the boulevard in preparation for pick up. Please note that branches will be collected from boulevards only. Debris placed in alleyways or yards will not be picked up. The collection will start Wednesday morning in the northwest corner of town and continue through other areas until Thursday afternoon. Crews will only pick up from each location one time, so the city is asking residents to place storm debris out no later than Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. Items set out after that time may not be collected.

Tree branches can also be dropped off free of charge at the Brookings City Landfill located at 4101 30th Street. The landfill will offer extended hours until 6:00 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. The city asks that residents refrain from placing garbage on boulevards and from dropping storm debris off at compost drop off sites.

Standard garbage and recycling pickup times will continue as usual.
