Brookings woman hurt in car/pedestrian accident

A Brookings woman is injured in a car/pedestrian accident.

Assistant Police Chief Derrick Powers says it happened last Thursday, April 25th, on the 500 block of Fifth Avenue.

Powers says a car driven by 60-year-old Edward Browne of Brookings was turning out of a parking lot and struck 68-year-old Gloria Nilson of Brookings who was walking across Fifth Avenue.

Nilson was taken by ambulance to the Brookings Hospital.

The extent of her injuries is not known.
