Brookings woman charged in Wednesday stabbing

A Brookings woman is facing a felony assault charge after a Wednesday evening incident.

Lt. Marci Gebers says police were called to the 400 block of 7th Avenue South at about 8:00 p.m. She says there was a report of a stabbing.

When police arrived at the residence, they found a 26-year-old male victim with superficial lacerations on the left arm. He did not require further medical treatment.

Gebers says there was an infant present at the time.

The 20-year-old female has been charged with aggravated assault. Gebers says alcohol was a factor.
