Brookings woman accused of threatening others with a hatchet

A Brookings woman is facing a felony assault charge after allegedly threatening others with a hatchet.

Police Lt. Marci Gebers says it was reported shortly before 8:30 Wednesday night on the 1000 block of Western Avenue.

A verbal argument led to the woman threatening others, raising the hatchet in the air.

She did not strike at anyone and no one was injured.

Forty-three-year-old Angela Sides was arrested for aggravated assault.
