Brookings Sheriff’s department reports residential burglary

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary at a rural Brookings residence.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it happened on the 3200 block of Heather Lane Sometime Tuesday.
The owner of the home says it was left unlocked and unoccupied from about 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The home was entered and several items stolen including an Xbox console and games, an acoustic guitar and case, a Dyson vacuum, a trombone and a leaf blower. The items are valued at about $2200.
