Brookings residents may resume lawn watering

Brookings Municipal Utilities says residents may resume lawn watering activities effective today.

On June 18th, a mechanical failure at one of Brookings’ water treatment plants caused for a disruption in service and a public request to cease lawn watering in the city. Staff was able to replace the failed part, and the system is back up and operational.

As a reminder, Brookings does have a lawn watering schedule that can be located on the BMU website. If you have a new lawn or a re-seeded lawn, a permit is required which can be obtained by contacting BMU at 605-697-8408.
