Brookings police remove juvenile and a dozen dogs from unsanitary residence

Brookings police on Friday dealt with a juvenile and a dozen dogs that were living in unsanitary conditions.

Police were called to a residence on the 600 block of 12th Avenue for an animal complaint.

The juvenile and the dogs were removed from the residence.

This incident is still under investigation and charges are pending against two adults from the residence.

Police were assisted by the Department of Social Services and Heartland Veterinary Clinic.
