Brookings police release limited information on a Wednesday night incident at a Brookings business

Brookings police released the following information on an incident at a Brookings business that involved the death of one person.:

On Wednesday, December 29th, 2021 at approximately 9PM, the Brookings Police Department received a call from an individual in a personal crisis at a business in the 200 block of Sunrise Ridge Road in Brookings, SD.

Officers from the Brookings Police Department along with Deputies with the Brookings County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area and verified employees were accounted for and not in danger. This was an isolated incident and at no time was there any threat to the employees of the business or anyone else in the area.

The incident is still under investigation by the Brookings Police Department.
