Brookings police looking for man who tried to lure two boys into vehicle

Brookings police are looking for information on a man who reportedly try to lure two boys into his vehicle.

Assistant Police Chief Derrick Powers says it happened at about 3:00 o’clock Wednesday afternoon on the 1000 block of Southland Lane.

The two grade school-age boys were walking home from school when the man, standing next to his vehicle in a driveway, started talking to them and tried to get them to get into his vehicle.

The boys ignored the man and continued walking home.

The man is described as a white male in his mid-30’s, short, with an average build. He’s about 5’8″ tall with dark hair. He was wearing a puffy black jacket and black Nikes with a gray swoosh.

The vehicle is a dark orange SUV or crossover.
