Brookings police are searching for a hit and run driver who struck a bicyclist and left the scene.
Assistant Chief Derrick Powers says it happened shortly after 7:00 o’clock Sunday evening at 12 Street South and Main Avenue.
Powers says the juvenile cyclist was crossing the street and was struck by a northbound car. The car bumped into the cyclist, causing only a minor leg injury that did not require medical attention.
The driver of the car did not stop and left the scene.
The car appeared to be a gray, mid-2000’s model 4-door Pontiac G6.
