A Brookings man is facing a charge of aggravated assault after allegedly threatening a woman with a machete and a hatchet.
Assistant Police Chief Derrick Powers says it was reported Thursday and had occurred the day before at a residence on the 1800 block of 22nd Avenue.
The victim, a 19-year-old brookings woman, told police she had gotten into an argument with the man and he threatened her with the machete and hatchet.
She was not injured and she was able to leave.
Police Thursday arrested the 18-year-old Brookings man and he was taken to the Brookings County Jail.
