Brookings City Council Election set; no School Board Election

There will be a Brookings City Council Election this year but not a Brookings School Board Election.

The Council race has three women running for two seats. Both City Council incumbents, Holly Tilton-Byrne and Mary Kidwiler have filed for reelection. In addition, Leah Brink has also filed her petitions to run.

The three incumbents filed for the three open positions on the Brookings School Board but no one else is running.

Board President Melissa Heermann and incumbent Van Fishback have filed for three-year terms. Wes Tschetter, who was appointed to the Board, has filed to run for a one-year term.

The City and School Election is April Ninth.
