The Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains has a new CEO.

The Board of Directors has announced the the hiring of Tim Lease, Principal of Camelot School in Brookings the last three years.

Lease was also a school principal in Milbank, has taught in the Brookings School District and in Minnesota, where he also coached basketball and baseball.

Boys and Girls Club Board Chair, Larry Tidemann says they’re excited to welcome Lease. Tidemann says Lease is a great fit for the position and he’s aware of the opportunities and challenges the Brookings, Yankton and Moody County communities face.

Lease says he’s looking forward to leading the Boys & Girls Club and working with the Board of Directors, Club staff, Club youth, and partners.

He holds a master’s degree in Educational Administration from South Dakota State University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from St. John’s University in Collegeville, MN.

A search committee conducted a nationwide search for their next CEO after Vanessa Merhib submitted her resignation. She has served in the post since 2006 and will step down on May 24. Lease starts in the position on June 10th.
