Avera Brookings to provide drive-through COVID-19 testing

Avera Medical Group of Brookings has set up a “drive-through” testing center for COVID-19.

However, you need to call ahead to be pre-screened. If you believe you were exposed to this virus or are displaying symptoms such as a fever over 100-degrees, a cough or shortness of breath, you should contact your primary care provider at 1-877-AT-AVERA to determine if testing is recommended.

If you need the test, a representative will call you to schedule your test and tell you where to go and when.

COVID-19 testing will be conducted outside the clinic, from your vehicle. Results are available within a few days.

Also, Avera Brookings is scheduling all non-respiratory visits in the morning with respiratory illness in the afternoon.

They are also working on virtual care visits to allow talking with your provider from home.
