Bogus $100 bills showing up in Brookings

The Brookings Chamber is warning local businesses that there are fake $100 bills in circulation in the city.

The Chamber says two of its members have taken fraudulent bills.

The $100 bills that were passed are tattered with “MOTION PICTURE PURPOSES” on the front and back of the bill with “IN PROPS WE TRUST” underneath that on the back.

Brookings police and the secret service have been notified and are investigating.
