Brookings Chamber names new President

The Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce has a new President.

After a months-long search, Kelsey Doom from Wagner, South Dakota has been named the new President and Chief Executive Officer. Doom currently serves as the Executive Director of Wagner Area Growth, Inc. and the Wagner Chamber of Commerce.

Doom says she’s excited and honored by this opportunity to work with the Brookings community.

Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors Staci Perry says they had interest from nearly 60 candidates across the country.

Former President and CEO David Merhib announced his resignation in December 2018.

Doom will be present at the 2019 Annual Meeting on April 2 and will officially begin her new position on April 8.
