24 COVID-19 deaths reported Thursday in South Dakota, including 1 in Brookings County

There were 24 COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday. The total is now 1763. One of the deaths was in Brookings County.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 2 to 156. Total cases are up by 15 to 3404. There have now been 34 deaths in Brookings County and there are 3214 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 118. The County is in the substantial community spread category.

Statewide, active cases drop by 101 to 3137. Total cases have increased by 187 to 107,795. The number of people who have recovered is 102,895. Current hospitalizations hold at 161.

Some 87,884 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 53,248 people. A total of 2394 doses have been given in Brookings County to 1670 people.
