13 COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday; active cases top 14,000

Thirteen COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday. The statewide total is now 2520.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 72 to 477. Ninety-eight new cases reported Thursday, raising the total to 6066. Recovered cases are at 5548. There have been 41 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 1777 to 14,355. Total cases increase by 2183 to 187,467. There are 170,592 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by 18 to 305.

Sixty-eight percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
