13 COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday; active cases falling

Thirteen COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday. The statewide total is now 2650.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 79 to 1435. There were 23 new cases reported Monday, raising the total to 7828. Recovered cases are at 6350. There have been 43 deaths reported in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 1408 to 32,239. Total cases increase by 1030 to 226,413. There are 191,524 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 18 to 393.

Seventy percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Fifty-seven percent have completed a vaccine series and 30-percent have received a booster.
