12 COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota weekly update

Twelve COVID-19 deaths reported Wednesday in the Department of Health weekly update — The statewide total is now 3033.

The state has changed the reporting method and no longer report active or recovered cases. County stats have also been changed.

There have been 842 new cases statewide in the last week and hospitalizations have dropped by 15 to 66. There have been 262,213 total cases.

In Brookings County in 2022, there have been 2948 cases and 22 deaths. One person is currently hospitalized in Brookings County for COVID-19.
