12 COVID-19 deaths reported Friday; big drop in active cases

Twelve COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday, raising the total to 1556.
Active cases in Brookings County decreased by 32 to 252. Total cases are up by 25 to 3156. There have now been 31 deaths in Brookings County and there are 2873 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 107. The County is in the substantial community spread category.
Statewide, active cases decrease by 794 to 5241. Total cases have increased by 448 to 102,580. The number of people who have recovered is 94,783. Current hospitalizations decrease by 17 to 247.
