Brookings woman faces multiple charges after Wednesday morning crash

A Brookings woman is injured in a single vehicle accident early this morning.

A car driven by 25-year-old Jessica Boyles was traveling north on I29 when she lost control of the vehicle near mile marker 134. The car struck a number of posts, a metal guardrail, metal cables, and a bridge. It happened around 1:30 a.m.

Assistant Brookings County Sheriff Scott Sebring says Boyles was taken by ambulance to the Brookings Hospital with unknown injuries.

Sebring says alcohol was a contributing factor. Boyles was arrested for driving under the influence, reckless driving, no valid drivers license, a seatbelt violation and active warrants.

The damage to the bridge is unknown at this time. The car was totalled.
